Jill Rockwell, Senior Assistant Dean for Student and Career Services, oversees the administrative units of admissions, student affairs, and career services, working with the other members of the student services team to strengthen students’ co-curricular and career-related experiences at the Batten School. Before joining the Batten School in 2008, Rockwell spent nearly a decade working at Duke Law School, both in career advising and as the law school’s Associate Dean of Students.  Prior to these positions, she practiced employment law at the Chicago office of Littler Mendelson and served as the Director of Career Advising and co-director of publications at the University of Illinois College of Law. She earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, and her BA in journalism and political science at Indiana University. Contact Jill at


Hannah Rose Bainter is the Batten School’s Director for Student and Career Services. Before joining the Batten School, Hannah Rose served the U.S. Air Force as a management consultant and then senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Concurrently, she supported high school and college students as a consultant for Position U 4 College, a career advisory firm, offering resume and interview preparation services. Additionally, while an undergraduate, Hannah Rose was awarded the prestigious Archer Fellowship, through which she interned for the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation. Hannah Rose graduated with Highest Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from The University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Government and Sociology. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in National Security Studies from The Johns Hopkins University. Contact Hannah Rose at
