Grading

Grading

  • All courses intended to fulfill Batten degree requirements must be taken for a grade (not a symbol, i.e CR), unless exclusively offered for the degree on a credit/no credit basis.
  • Grades and symbols used to record academic progress are listed in the following official grading system table for the University.
  • Grade point averages are calculated by totaling the number of grade points earned, then dividing that total by the number of credits carried toward the GPA
  • Each school at the University of Virginia determines its own grading system. Students are graded according to the grading system of the school in which the class is taught.
